Incarcerated female rapper Remy Ma is getting ready to return to the game.
A July release date is set for the Bronx rapstress who served a six-year prison sentence for an assault charge.
Remy Ma and Fat Joe had a bitter fallout as she was heading to prison in 2008. Speaking with Billboard, Remy Ma says she recently spoke to Fat Joe for the first time in years.
“I just recently spoke to him and we had a wonderful conversation,” Remy says from behind bars. “It started off a little awkward. We’re both like, ‘Just say what you want to say.’ We were both holding on to our egos. ‘Well, what do you want to say?’ ‘No, what do you want to say?’ We finally let it go.”
“He said, ‘I still think you’re the dopest female rapper ever,’ ” she continues. “I’m like, ‘Really?!’ When you put egos and pride aside, and be the real people that you are it works out… I told him that when I do go home, I’m going to make it my business that we talk more.”
Remy Ma was once a member of Fat Joe’s Terror Squad before going to prison.
Post release she says she is looking to work with Rico Love, Rick Ross, Meek Mill and Nicki Minaj.
