Pop star Justin Bieber has issued a word of cautioned to rappers about his alter ego Shawty Mane.

Bieber tell rappers not to sleep on his hip-hop alter ego “Shawty Mane”, hinting at a possible comeback weeks after dropping his “Tungs” freestyle.

Bieber also admitted that his freestyle was coincidental and was not meant to launch a rap career.

“Shawty Mane, I don’t know, me and my friends were just messing around and they were like ‘Shawty Mane’ and I was like ‘Yeah, that’ll be my nickname,’ ” said Bieber at an L.A. signing. “Shawty Mane is just like a funny character…You know Justin Bieber is not a rapper, and it would just be lame if I came out rapping. It’s lame anyway because I’m like a pop singer, but I thought it was funny, I just did it as a joke. It wasn’t like anything serious…I thought it was fun, I like rapping. Maybe in the future, Shawty Mane will come back.”

Bieber’s freestyle circulated the Internet in mid-October.

This kid just does it all, huh? Justin Bieber is known for eliciting squeals from teens by way of singing and dancing. But last night the Biebs made his debut as a rapper. Over Cam’ron and Vado‘s “Speaking in Tungs,” a huge hip-hop record in New York’s tri-state area, Bieber confidently steps to the mic in a short Youtube clip. Honestly, he’s pretty good. Lyrically it’s pretty light on substance. But that’s okay. He’s only 16! And rich. He rhymes about buying a girl diamonds, being on fire, and being fly. But there is one line that’s a cut above the rest, where he takes a shot at New England Patriot Tom Brady – who’s been getting a lot of heat for sporting Bieber’s hairstyle. Apparently there can only be one mop cut king. (Entertainment Weekly)

Impressed by Bieber’s rhymes, Diplomat rapper Vado said he was interested in featuring the pop star on his “Tungs” remix.
