Recording Artists now turn producer Alaine is stepping up her present in the music biz with the launch of her own Record Label called “1Thirty1.”

Touched by the recent events in West Kingston Jamaica, the singer/songwriter released “You Are Me,” which is the first song produced under the label. The song is gaining popularity locally and is in rotation in the US and UK.

“I was inspired to write You Are Me, by the events that happened in West Kingston. I was really affected by the negative images from the media coverage and negative, fearful sentiments being expressed on the talk shows and the sounds of gunshots being fired all around,” Alaine told Jamaican journalists.

A video for the single will be released later this month.
