Mighty Crown Lives Up To The Hype, Driving Force Tour Thrills in the UK
Ever since the announcement of Mighty Crown’s “DRIVING FORCE TOUR,” the UK has been bubbling with excitement. An outpour of bids from promoters, full sized billboards, commercials and a month-long radio residency with Robbo Ranx on BBC 1xtra contributed to the ridiculous buzz. And true to fashion, “The Far East Rulers” leveled the UK with vibes, exceeded expectations and more than lived up to the hype surrounding their “DRIVING FORCE TOUR” performances. With sold-out dates, lengthy lines and raving audiences, Mighty Crown was every sense of a HIT during their recent two week take over.
While all of Mighty Crown’s stage shows were robust with great music, fun, humor and overall entertainment, it was a climactic moment for the “DRIVING FORCE TOUR” at London’s Tudor Rose. During this unforgettable performance, Mighty Crown dropped incessant, authentic Reggae selections and drove the audience into a frenzy with an over-the-top daggering segment in which an unsuspecting patron was touted across the stage — “FAR EAST STYLE.”
“I am rather proud of what my team has accomplished with Mighty Crown, especially since many sounds and artists are not touring consistently now-a-days,” says Garfield “Chin” Bourne of Irish and Chin, Mighty Crown’s manager.
Consisting of mostly dates in the U.K. (London, Bristol, Wolverhampton, Manchester & Nottingham) and stops in Biel, Switzerland and Berlin, Germany, Mighty Crown had venues filled to capacity and roaring with forwards, as they dropped hard hitting Reggae music selections! The massive crowds were especially hype over Mighty Crown’s one-of-a-kind specials and dub plates of their favorite tunes. Fans and promoters alike have hailed “The Far East Rulers” for their performances, using phrases like “first class,” “big league,” “world class” and “epic” to describe them.
“We are really enjoying the tour and appreciate the love that people have for Mighty Crown,” says Masta Simon, co-founder of Mighty Crown. “Our mission is to elevate sound system culture and keep it as prominent as possible.”
Mighty Crown’s “DRIVING FORCE TOUR” has been rocking dancehall fans since March 2013, and will have spanned more than 50 dates across three continents by the time it’s completed. The “Far East Rulers” have returned to Japan to headline some big events and will wrap up their “DRIVING FORCE TOUR” with an explosive finale in Europe in August, appearing on prominent festivals and events.
