21 Savage might be pulling a Lil Wayne stunt on us by going R&B.
After Rotimi revealed that he has the number one R&B album in the country, other rappers are now thinking that they can do the same. 21 Savage has been teasing us over the past couple of weeks by showing off his vocal skills. The big question is it ready for prime time. The Atlanta rapper thinks so because he has announced that he will be singing R&B on his upcoming tour.
“I’m singing r&b this time on tour,” he wrote on IG. 21 Savage is best known for his hardcore rap bangers like “Bank Account,” but we’ve seen rappers transitioned to R&B before and made it work. One of the biggest rappers on the planet right now, Drake, also sings some of the hottest R&B joints.
In other 21 Savage news, the rappers set at the Roots Picnic was cut short following a gun scare incident. According to ABC 6, at least five people were hospitalized as a result of getting injured at the music festival.
“I was sitting on the blanket and you just heard screams and then probably like 100 people, I was sitting down, and they just started running,” a witness told ABC 6. “We were just all told to run straight and to the side and get out as quick as possible.”
Cops reported that at least one person suffered a broken leg, and some are underage.
