Dancehall artist Massop Di General was killed in a car crash last week in Florida.
Massop Di General is a fast-rising dancehall deejay in the Tampa, Florida area. This year, he was also making some headway in the Jamaican dancehall community with his new single “Badmind Ago Kill Dem.” Massop was signed to Mineral Boss Records, which was founded by the late producer Mineral Boss, who was shot and killed in Jamaica two years ago.
The new head of the label, Tawana Jones, spoke on the death of Massop saying that his career was on the verge of taking off. “Last weekend, he performed with Shane O in Tampa and his career was picking up as he was getting airplay on stations in Jamaica with his song, ‘Badmind Ago Kill Dem’ and now he is gone,” she told Loop.
The deejay was booked for several shows in Florida which are now canceled.
