Young Money’s Drake recently revealed that he is considering dropping a full reggae album, which he will start recording after his European tour.

The Canadian rapper spill the news on MuchMusic network in an interview with T. TexXx on the Hip-Hop show Rap City.

“I wanna do something for Jamaica, because we are supposed to go out there and record after the European tour,” Drake said.

“I was like send me some rhythms that are poppin and I’ll see what I can do. He sent me some rhythms that are poppin, so I’ll see what I can do. You never know,” he added.

Drake is no stranger to Jamaican reggae/dancehall culture, as the platinum selling rapper work with dancehall deejay Mavado in 2010 for his video “Find Your Love.” But not without some controversy, since the Jamaican government condemn the video as portraying a bad image for the island paradise.

“We just have to say that care has to be taken by all, including our creative artistes, in portraying images of our destination and people,” Bartlett told the Jamaican Gleaner. “Gun culture, while not unique to Jamaica, is not enhancing (the island’s image),” said the Minister of Tourism Ed Bartlett.

Drake is also currently in negotiations to star in the financial thriller “Arbitrage” alongside veteran actor Al Pacino.

If materialize, this album should be interested.
