Drake Calls Out Fake Friends At Nightclub Amid Future & The Weeknd Fallout

"My real friends are definitely in the building"

Drake continues to send subliminal shots at his former friends this time from the comfort of a nightclub in Toronto with the help of a DJ.

The OVO rapper is having one of the worst years of his career and much of it has to do with his beef with Kendrick Lamar. While much of hip hop is saying Drake lost the lyrical battle, he still emerges with some stripes given his streaming stats have not suffered a significant blow, which means fans are still consuming his music.

The feud also unearthed a falling out between Drizzy and some of his friends in the game like Future, The Weeknd, A$AP Rocky, and Rick Ross. It was Rozay who coined the phrase BBL Drizzy, a nickname that has since caused the 6 God some embarrassment. Sources are saying that Drizzy was blindsided by some of the beefs particularly with Future since they were so close and even collaborated on albums and many songs, as well as tour together.

The Toronto rapper seemed in a better mood last weekend when he and his friends, who are still rocking with him, popped up at the Nostalgia party in his hometown. It’s clear that the feuds were still on his mind when he started ranting about “fake friends.”

“One things about nostalgia, this party here?” Drizzy said. “My real friends are definitely in the building. But I’m going to tell you. You’re going to come to a point in life where people you thought were friends or people you thought were close to you, they might switch up.”

Drake continues, “They might try to move funny with you. They might stab you in the back, they might do a lot of things to you. You’ll come to that realization, wherever you’re at in life. You’ve probably been there and you’ll be there again, that’s how life is. But look, sometimes, it’s you and you alone by yourself. Sometimes it’s you alone with your thoughts.”

Drake recently went on an unfollowing spree on Instagram where he hit the unfollow button on several celebrities including Lebron James, Future, Kendrick Lamar, and The Weeknd. His falling out with Lebron is particularly interesting given that Bron is a baller and not a rapper. But fans suspect that arose from the Lakers star spotted at a party recently dancing and rapping to Kendrick Lamar’s diss song “Not Like Us” a track spawned from K.Dot’s hotly contested beef with the OVO rapper over the summer.
