Fabolous Nabs His 7th Top 10 Billboard 200 Record With ‘Summertime Shootout 3’

Fabolous should be feeling over the moon as he scores the 7th top 10 record of his career.

The rapper released Summertime Shootout 3: Coldest Summer Ever on November 29 of this year, and it has since received raving reviews from hip-hop fans. Fabolous went all out with this mixtape, calling in some of hip hop and r&b’s best talents to lend their voices to the masterpiece. We get the likes of Chris Brown and Teyana Taylor being featured on “Us vs. The World,” Ty Dolla $ign on “Oh Yeah,” Jacquees lending his smooth vocal to “My Mind,” African sensation Davido teaming up with Jeremih and Fab to bring about “Choosy,” and quite a few other features involving Meek Mill, Josh K, Roddy Ricch, PnB Rock, Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz, Tory Lanez, Lil Durk, YFN Lucci, and A Boogie wit da Hoodie.

With such a star-studded lineup, it is no surprise the project shot up the charts, effectively landing its place among Fabo’s other projects. Fabolous kicked things off with 2001s Ghetto Fabolous which shot to number 4, 2003s Street Dreams that landed at Number 3, 2004s Real Talk made its way to number 6, 2007s From Nothin’ to Somethin’ got the number 2 position, 2009s Loso’s Way got him his only number 1 and 2017s Jadakiss collaboration Friday on the 2017 Elm Street that reached number 10.

According to information obtained from Billboard’s website, Summertime Shootout 3: Coldest Summer Ever debuted at number 7 and got 44,000 equivalent album units during the week ending December 5. This also includes 37,000 streaming units, which works out to 46.9 million concurrent audio streams.

While Fabs numbers are great, the battle at the top of the Billboard 200 charts is fierce. The soundtrack from Disney’s Frozen II locking the number 1 spot with 80,000 units, Post Malone’s Hollywood Bleeding is also present effectively securing its spot at number 2, clocking a whopping 65,000 units, A Love Letter to You 4 by Trippie as a lot of spunk and rolls in to secure the 3rd slot on the chart.

Fabolous has been a staple in hip hop since the early 2000s and constantly finds ways to reinvent himself and to stay relevant without any major social media scandal or clout chasing. Many persons have questioned how he has remained consistent over the years, and it seems the main ingredient of his sauce is releasing wonderful bodies of work.

You can stream Fab’s new mixtape on all major streaming platforms.
