Ziggy Marley And His Beautiful Family Stars In UGG’s Holiday Campaign

Ziggy Marley and his clan are the stars for California-based footwear brand Uggs’ newest holiday advertising campaign, which, according to the company, is aimed at celebrating the importance and beauty of family, love, and all the ‘magic the holidays bring.’

The 51-year-old and his wife, in addition to his seven children, recently conducted a photoshoot and video for Uggs Christmas advertising campaign, which is set to the background of Ziggy Marley’s song ‘Love Is My Religion,’ the title track from his 2006 album of the same name.

Uggs has also contributed $50,000 to the URGE (Unlimited Resources Giving Enlightenment) charity, which was founded by Ziggy as well as Heart of Los Angeles. URGE is a nonprofit organization that supports needy women, children, and communities in Los Angeles, while Heart of Los Angeles, is a youth engagement program for underserved youth which provides academic, arts and athletics programs.

Ziggy, who is the oldest son of Reggae Icon, Bob Marley, is a father to children spanning ages three to 30. He said the UGG campaign served as a great opportunity for his family to get together as his elder children live elsewhere and “don’t see each other unless it’s an occasion.”

“So it was really good for us to get involved with the UGG campaign,” he said. “It kind of brought us together and made us become even more close. We had a fun shoot, we had a fun time, it was like family time …”

“Being with UGG and feeling comfortable and happy and cozy in the shoes and the jacket, it was very natural for us, because even before this I was wearing UGG,” he said.

Ziggy is Jamaica’s most acclaimed Grammy award winner, having copped eight wins from 15 nominations over the years. He registered his first platinum album with his 1988 Grammy-winning LP Conscious Party, which also featured his biggest hit ‘Tomorrow People”.

His other Grammy won include the one Bright Day album in 1988, Fallen Is Babylon in 1985, Love is My Religion in 1997, Family Time in 2006, Ziggy Marley in Concert in 2011, Fly Rasta in 2013 and We are Music in 2014.
