J. Cole Confirms New Album “The Fall Off” Due Early 2020

J Cole all-star

J. Cole has confirmed that he is working on his new album, tentatively due early next year.

Getting new music from J. Cole is always a good thing, and the rapper is already priming his fans for a 2020 release of “The Fall Off.” The rapper made the announcement during the Day N Vegas festival at Las Vegas Festival Grounds, where a host of other Dreamville artiste accompanied the KOD rapper.

Previously released projects such as 2014 Forest Hill Drive, 4 Your Eyez Only, and KOD all showcase Cole as a wizard or words. He is consistent in his album releases, providing his fans with one every two years. Expectations for the album have been quite high, and this was boosted by titling last track of KOD, “1985 (Intro to ‘The Fall Off’).” The rapper has also been dropping hints of the upcoming album on his social media accounts.

Even with all the hints, we still did not expect the level of creativity put into the unveiling of the release. The video which was displayed on the big screen during Friday’s performance began with footage of police, protestors, and lawmakers, after which we got a shot of Cole practically covered with the American flag.

The narrator read, “It seems like sh*t is all f**ked up. The country needs a hero to turn to in these turbulent times. Jermaine Cole is that hero. He’s a man whose humility knows no bounds. A man whose pen is so potent, each word of his verses reportedly cost $2,000. We need someone with big ideas and bold solutions. An expert in diplomacy. A candidate who can heal the inter-generational war…. There is only one answer, one true unifier to heal the country. Make your voice heard. Vote for The Fall Off in 2020.”

Patrons also sported posters showing and confirming the upcoming album, however, the rapper did not state the exact date of the release.

J. Cole announcement has sparked debate among fans online, with many asking for more ‘bangers’ which many feel KOD failed to deliver.
