Chance the Rapper and Wife Kirsten Bennett Welcomes Second Child

Chance the Rapper welcomes a new addition to his family.

Congratulations are in order for Chance the Rapper and his wife Kirsten Bennett. The couple recently welcomed a baby girl to their family. Kirsten shared a cropped photo of the newborn minus her face on her Instagram page. The post was captioned, “Our sweet baby girl, Marli, is here.” Many friends, family and fans have wished the couple congratulations. Kirsten has been somewhat private during the entirety of her pregnancy posting only a handful of photos on her Instagram page.

The couple first announced they were expecting a child back in March, less than a week after their star-studded wedding that boasted guests such as Kanye West and his wife Kim Kardashian. The rapper posted a photo to his Instagram page with the visuals, “We pregnant again, its a girl. JESUS CHRIST. WE LOVE YOU GOD,” Chance then captioned the image, “New baby droppin September.”

The pair began dating back in 2013. Baby Marli is the second child for the couple as she joins big sister, Kensli, born to the couple in September 2015. Kensli was kept out of social media until December 31, 2016, when Kirsten posted a picture of her on her Instagram page. The couple have had a very tumultuous relationship and back in 2016, after they separated, Kirsten proceeded to have the rapper declared as Kensli’s father which would then call for him to pay child support.

In February 2017, the child support case was reopened as the pair needed to figure out a child support agreement and decide on a schedule for the custody of their daughter. The Chicago Sun-Times published an article about a dispute between the two in March 2017. To which Kirsten responded, “Y’all
better do y’all jobs and stop worrying about how good my family is. Just a friendly reminder. Don’t let anybody get between you and your family.” Shortly after the dispute was resolved outside of court.

The couple then reconciled, and on July 4, 2018, they became engaged after 5 years together. The two married on March 9, 2019 at the Pelican Hill Resort in Newport Beach, California. A few days before the wedding, the rapper told his fans the touching story of how he first met Kirsten. When Chance was 9 years old, he attended a party at his mom’s office, where Kirsten performed a Destiny’s Child dance routine and at that moment he made a promise to himself. The rapper tweeted to his fans, “I knew I was gonna marry that girl. Sixteen years later it’s happening. This wknd is the time, and the place is my wedding. I’m gonna dance with my wife because this is my destiny.”

Congratulations to the couple, who are now blessed with two little girls.
