Cops have yet to make an arrest in Vybz Kartel’s associate Keshan’s murder.

Members of the Police department are fully aware of the identity of the man who killed potential entrepreneur and budding artiste Keshan, however, arrests have yet to be made. Dancehall artiste, Keshan, had her life drastically cut short when she was shot and killed on July 20, 2019. The news came as a shock to many who knew her to be a very jovial and reserved individual. The artiste had released several songs, including Bubble Up Your Body, Don’t Lie, Kill or Die, and The Goods featuring Vybz Kartel.

UrbanIslandz reported on the devastating incident back in July and reports at the time confirmed that the singer was involved in a relationship with a father of two and died as a result of an altercation between the two. It is said that the individual informed the singer that he was no longer in a relationship with the mother of his child. Keshan upon finding out this to be false visited him at the home of the other female partner. This then resulted in her becoming enraged after which she allegedly begun to throw stones at his vehicle and then proceeded to stab him three times. The man then subsequently drew his licensed firearm firing one shot, hitting her in the upper body.

Reports state that the individual then proceeded to drive himself and Keshan to the hospital. Upon arriving at the hospital, the singer was pronounced dead and the man treated and released. Keshan’s family members have questioned the details of the report failing to comprehend how the man was able to drive both himself and Keshan to the hospital after being inflicted with stab wounds.

Since then, no arrests have been made, according to the Corporate Communications Unit (CCU). A district constable who wished to remain anonymous stated, “No one has been arrested as investigations are still ongoing.” Earlier reports suggest that the man was being guarded by Police officers as he was in fear of his own life after the incident. The man’s name is also being withheld.

Keshan, whose real name is Keneisha Brown, made a huge impact on the lives of her friends, family, and fans. Her sister, Peteisha Brown, told the Observer that the family is having severe difficulties overcoming the loss of the artiste.

She stated, ” It’s still hard. There are days when individual member of the family breaks down. I still break down every night, you know. It’s very hard.”

The funeral service for Keshan will be on September 8 at the Spring Village Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Old Harbour, St Catherine. Interment follows at the Church Pen Cemetery.
