A$AP Rocky Returns To The Stage With New Music, Brings Out Tyler the Creator

A$AP Rocky has been at the center of controversy over the last month or so, but he finally got back to what he’s known for best – the music. The Harlem rapper headlined Real Street Festival in Anaheim, CA Sunday night, his first performance since being released from jail in Sweden on August 2.

During his set, Rocky brought out Tyler the Creator as a special guest to perform “Telephone Calls” and “Who Day Boy,” according to Hot New Hip Hop. Tyler was the first of many artists who swore to stop performing in Sweden until A$AP Rocky was freed from prison.

Tyler continued to show his support for A$AP Rocky throughout his stent in jail, and even said in a freestyle with Hot 97’s Funk Flex that he would trade places with Rocky in jail if he could.

A$AP Rocky, born Rakim Meyers, spent weeks in jail in Sweden after a street fight that brought about assault charges. After trial, a judge allowed the 30-year-old rapper to come back to the states until a verdict is given on August 14 that will determine if he does more jail time.

Rocky also previewed the intro of a new unreleased song Sunday night. The “Wild for the Night” rapper paused the show to thank his fans and friends for their support during his case. “I just want to say, what I experienced was crazy. I’m so happy to be here y’all don’t even understand. That was a scary humbling experience, but I’m here right now. God is good.”

West coast rapper YG and fellow A$AP mobber, Ferg, also joined Rocky on stage.
