‘Lady Of Dancehall’ D’Angel Honored By Georgia Governor For Contribution To Music

D’Angel, aka The Lady Of Dancehall, was honored by Georgia Governor Brian Kemp.

The dancehall diva shared a video of herself accepting her award from a state representative from Georgia. D’Angel is being honored for her contribution to music. In the video, she was collecting her award in a hotel hallway, but she explained that the award was suppose to take place on stage at the recently held Atlanta Carnival. That didn’t happened because the show was prematurely shut down due to overcrowding.

“Thanks To The Governor Mr Bryan Kemp For This Recognition Hard Work And Humility Gets Me This Far Sometimes It Takes Other People To See That Other Than Your Own… You Heard For Yourself “FIRST FEMALE EVER! “Been Ah Dweet Fi Di Love And Not Di Hype” The Longest Liver Will Live To See The Most God Bless,” she wrote.

“Juss To Add The Presentation Was Supposed To Be Made On Stage At Atlanta Carnival But The Show Shut Down Before I Could Even Get There Due To Over Crowded…. See Y’all Next Time,” she added.

D’Angel recently announced that she dropped the “First Lady Of Dancehall” title and is now referring to herself as “The Lady of Dancehall.” A part of her reason for the change is that she no longer want to have that tie to Dancehall King Beenie Man after the two finalized their divorce.
