We must always assume Lil Nas X is trolling, but this time he may have been serious about another remix to “Old Town Road.”
That’s right, another one. Last week Lil Nas X dropped a remix to the “Old Town Road” remix with Billy Ray Cyrus featuring Young Thug and viral star Mason Ramsey. Afterwards, the internet began spreading jokes about how long the overnight sensation country-trap star would continue making remixes to the song that’s already went diamond.
Lil Nas X himself tweeted Monday, “y’all think I can get Dolly Parton and Megen Thee Stallion on an Old Town Road remix?” The question got 44 thousand retweets, most of them laughing off the idea.
But it may be coming true after all. On Wednesday, Country music legend Dolly Parton tweeted out a photo of three horses, one of them being pink, in a remake of the cover art for the song that’s taken over 2019.
Lil Nas X retweeted the photo saying “YEE YEE GANG!” accompanied by horse emojis.
“Old Town Road” may be the song that keeps on giving. Now we are just awaiting a response from Houston rapper Megan Thee Stallion.
