Twitter Trying To Cancel Lil Nas X Over Alleged Old Islamophobic Tweets #LilNasXIsOverParty

Lil Nas X

Twitter tried to cancel Lil Nas X over some alleged old islamophobic tweets.

In case you see the hashtag #LilNasXIsOverParty trending on Twitter today, it’s because some folks are trying to cancel our favorite country rapper, Lil Nas X. The “Old Town Road” rapper has remained silent about the controversy and for good reasons. After all, this is more publicity for him and more streams for his new album 7, which was released last week Friday. His mega hit single “Old Town Road” is one of the longest-running number one songs on Billboard Hot 100 of all-time.

Given his recent success, it was only a matter of time before someone sitting around a computer go and dig up some old stuff about him to try and take down his career. It’s the nature of the world that we’re now living in. Early Sunday morning, the #LilNasXIsOverParty hashtag started trending because someone found some alleged old tweets allegedly from an old Twitter account that Lil Nas X used to use. Urban Islandz could not confirm from the rapper nor anyone on his team if this is factual, but Twitter has since suspended the account.

The alleged Twitter account handle is @nasmaraj, which means that he was also a Nicki Minaj stan. One of the old tweets that was send out from the account reads, “Stop pretending there is no correlation between violence & Islam.” Another one of the old tweets was also about Ariana Grande.

Perhaps folks are reaching on this, but one thing is for sure, the cancel culture is alive and well. Despite the efforts to get him in trouble with the entire world, Lil Nas X is getting a lot of support from the culture.

“Y’all been waiting to see him fall. Can’t stand to see a young black man be great, huh? Stans and cancel culture are so gross Good thing they only exist on social media. He’ll be fine,” one fan wrote.

Here are some more tweets.
