A lot is going down in Spice DM.
The Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta star has always been a huge fan of Nicki Minaj to the extent that at one point some fans started accusing her of stalking the Trinidadian rapper on the Gram. In her recent sit down with BET, the “Black Hypocrisy” deejay opened up about what’s been going down in her DM. She talked about messages from men wanting to date her and supportive DMs from Amara La Negra, but her spiciest DM came from her idol, Nicki Minaj.
“You know to be honest my spiciest DM would be the one that came from Nicki Minaj,” she said. “I like her as an artist, and I look up to her, I’ve been rocking with her for years now, and I like her style, everything about her. Then one day she got up on Instagram, and she posted me, she posted my video, and she tagged me and was like ‘oh Spice official sick.’ She wrote this long speech about me that she thought I was very lyrical and she loved the song, and you know just bigging me up and congratulating me.”
Spice said she then sent Nicki Minaj a DM and told her thanks for the message that she wrote. “She responded, and you know was very encouraging and nice and sweet, and you know someone you look up to just woke up one day and posted you on the Gram and showing you love, so for me that was spicy,” she added.
Nicki Minaj previously posted a clip from Spice “Indicator” music video on Instagram where she called the track her new obsession.
“#Indicator Soca Rmx – My new obsession.,” Nicki wrote on IG. “Haven’t felt like this about a woman in dancehall since Lady Saw. @spiceofficial (sound like a female vybz Kartel) idk how I didn’t know about u b4 but S/O to my trini brotha @bunjigarlin for doing this soca remix cuz now I’m in love. Y’all both MURDERED this. Beat crazyyyyyy. Island gyal ting. It sell off!!!! Everybody else: fix up yaself.”
