007 is coming to Jamrock.

Jamaica will be the set of Daniel Craig’s final James Bond film set to start production soon. There aren’t much details available yet about the next installment in the James Bond franchise. The Mirror UK has confirmed that production is scheduled to get underway in the coming days in Norway and that Jamaica will be the central location for the film.

Jamaica’s Tourism Minister, Edmund Bartlett, and Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sports Minister Olivia “Babsy” Grange, have confirmed that they’re in final talks with James Bond producers about filming Bond 25 in Jamaica. The pair will be traveling to Pinewood Studios in England sometime this week where they will meet with Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson, the producers of Bond 25.

The Tourism Minister said that the discussions are at an advanced level, which means that Jamaica is almost sure will be the location for the new James Bond film. This movie will be the first and final time that Daniel Craig is taking on the role of the iconic fictional character James Bond.

Jamaica was featured heavily in the first ever James Bond film Dr No in 1962. The filmed featured a famous scene where actress Ursula Andress emerged from the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean sea. British novelist Ian Flemming wrote the original James Bond novel at his Golden Eye in St. Mary, Jamaica.

The new Bond film is set for an April 8, 2020 release date.
