21 Savage Released From ICE Custody On Bail But Still Not In The Clear

21 Savage was released from ICE custody in Atlanta on Tuesday afternoon.

Atlanta rap star 21 Savage, born Shéyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, is now a free man. The “Bank Account” rapper was granted bail on Tuesday and is now resting at home with his family pending an immigration court hearing. His attorneys, Charles H. Kuck, Dina LaPolt and Alex Spiro, confirmed that they managed to convince a judge to release him on bond.

21 Savage freedom could only be temporary since he has an upcoming court hearing where an immigration judge will determine his fate. His lawyers told TMZ that he is grateful for the support that he has been getting around the world.

“While he wasn’t present at the Grammy Awards, he was there in spirit and is grateful for the support from around the world and is more than ever, ready to be with his loved ones and continue making music that brings people together,” he said in a statement through his attorneys.

21 Savage was arrested last week Sunday and placed in ICE custody. Authorities say he is a British citizen who overstayed his visa from 2005 and has been living in the United States illegally. His attorney says that is not the whole truth and that he submitted documents to change his status back in 2017, hence his arrest was unjust.

The 26-year-old rapper spent all of his adult life with his mother and siblings in Atlanta and currently has three kids who are dependent on him. Savage is now in the process of securing a U-Visa.
