Lil Wayne files a lawsuit against his ex-attorney claiming he was robbed.

Weezy didn’t just fire his lawyer, Ronald Sweeney, last year September, but he also filed a $20 million lawsuit against him. Sweeney has represented Lil Wayne from 2005 to 2018 including during the time that the New Orleans rapper sue Birdman and Cash Money Records. Wayne is now claiming that the lawyer sniffed him out of millions of dollars by charging him exorbitant fees way above the industry standard.

In his legal docs, the Young Money rapper says Sweeney charged him 10% for every deal that he helped him closed which is twice the industry standard. According to TMZ, Lil Wayne is now claiming that Sweeney failed to inform him that 5% is the industry standard.

The rapper also claimed that his former lawyer got pretty greedy when he proposed to get an additional 10% of all profits from Wayne’s label Young Money. The rapper eventually shot down the request.

As if that wasn’t enough, Lil Wayne says that Sweeney hired an outside law firm to help in the litigation of his multimillion lawsuit against Cash Money over his new album “Carter V.” The legal docs stipulate that the outside law firm got 23 percent of his Cash Money settlement and 15 percent of the Universal Music Group settlement. That was on top of Sweeney’s 10 percent fee.

Lil Wayne is looking for a $20 million settlement.
