Squash 6iix Boss is now a free man.

Fast-rising Montego Bay dancehall artiste Squash 6iix Boss was recently released from jail. The deejay, whose real name is Andre’ Whittaker, was taken into custody last year August during the heights of the State of Public Emergency in St. James. The deejay was held without charge for the past six months. He announced on Instagram this week that he is finally free and has a new single out.

Squash Boss is among a new wave of dancehall deejays from Montego Bay. He rose to fame over the past several months with a few singles bubbling on the airwaves all while he was behind bars awaiting his fate. With songs like “Over Come,” “Money Fever,” and “Trending,” Squash is poised for a big year in dancehall.
