Kanye West weighs in on R. Kelly documentary fallout.

Kanye West is among a minority of celebrities who says they can look pass R. Kelly’s underage sex cult allegations and still enjoy his music. Ye is not new to holding controversial views on various social and political topics including slavery and President Trump. Last year he got hammered for his political views, and he has not backed down so don’t think that he will back down from his opinion on R. Kelly.

Yesterday, Kanye West rounded up the entire Kardashian/Jenner clan for his “Sunday Service” performance where he performed a number of his more uplifting songs while being backed by a full choir. He didn’t specify whether or not he watched the “Surviving R. Kelly” documentary, but he did say that you can enjoy the art while not supporting the artist.

“They just gonna pull up full documentaries on him,” Kanye said. “Then they gonna come with the Michael [Jackson] documentary. … We can all enjoy all their music all we want. I thought I wasn’t going to go there today. If we’re gonna tear down artists, let’s go ahead and take [Leonardo] da Vinci out the Lourve. Let’s take down all the art.”

There is a Michael Jackson documentary titled “Leaving Neverland” set to premiere at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. Like R. Kelly, Kanye West is also from Chicago, and the two artists worked together in 2012 for Ye’s G.O.O.D. Music compilation album Cruel Summer.
