Future Talks R. Kelly Scandal “We’re giving it too much attention”

Future

Future has weighed in on R. Kelly sex scandal.

Several celebrities have spoken out about R. Kelly sex cult scandal after Lifetime aired its “Surviving R. Kelly” documentary. Future is just the latest to add his voice in the mix, and he seems like he just wants it to be gone. The Atlanta rapper is currently promoting his new album and documentary The WIZRD, and on Wednesday he stopped by Power 106’s “The Cruz Show” to speak about what he has been working on.

R. Kelly is the hot topic now in the music space so naturally he was asked about the R&B legend and whether or not he would do a collaboration with him. “Man, who is that? I thought we had forgot about that,” he said. Some fans are already asking Future to clarify his stance on the R. Kelly issue, but he did elaborate some more during the interview.

“We’re giving it too much attention,” the rapper continues. “When you give things too much attention, they blow up. That’s why his music gon’ do what it did ’cause Y’all keep talking about it. Stop talking about it—it’ll go away.”

Future is right about one thing, R. Kelly music streaming has increased exponentially since Lifetime aired the documentary, but that doesn’t mean that we should be silent about the things that he is being accused of particularly when it comes to underage girls.

Nevertheless, Future insisted that too many people are talking about it. Since “Surviving R. Kelly” aired, several celebrities have spoken out against him including Meek Mill, Tank, Ne-Yo, John Legend, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Chance the Rapper and 6LACK. Chance said it was actually a mistake to make a song with R. Kelly.

Future and Kelly previously collaborated on the single “Tear It Up” which was released on the singer’s Black Panties album released in 2013.
