Nicki Minaj Calls Beenie Man The “One King” Of Dancehall, Vybz Kartel Fans Clap Back

Beenie Man 2019

Nicki Minaj says Beenie Man is the “one king” of dancehall.

The Queen rapper re-post a video clip of Beenie Man spitting a freestyle over the “Touch Down” beat. By the way, that beat is sick. Nicki Minaj collaborated with Vybz Kartel on the remix for the Stylo G single. The remix has been making waves in dancehall since its released two weeks ago. Perhaps it’s that success that prompted Beenie to drop this fire freestyle.

Nicki maybe feels like The Doc should’ve been included on the official remix. “UNO FI KNOW SEH A [One] KING!!!! @kingbeenieman PICK UP NICKI ROUND AH SICILY,” she wrote. Stylo G also gave the post a co-sign.

Beenie Man responded by saying, “Hear the Queen talk.” Nicki then added, “[King Beenie Man] babe yuh murda dem I love this verse I’d shoot somebody for the king. Straight.”

Some of Vybz Kartel‘s Gazanation fans left comments on the post suggesting that the incarcerated deejay is the true king of dancehall. “These old heads should go retire, Vybz Kartel the one true king of dancehall and that’s a fact,” one fan wrote while another added, “Beenie can’t be king while Kartel still alive foh.”

Nicki Minaj and Beenie Man previously collaborated on the 2012 single “Gun Shot” which was featured on her album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. They have remained friends over the years. “Touch Down” remix marks the first time that she is collaborating with Vybz Kartel, despite rumors floating around for years.
