Meek Mill Taps Drake For New Collaboration On “Championship” Album

Drake and Meek Mill

Meek Mill and Drake finally got a new collaboration coming on his new album, Championship.

Weeks after the two rappers made peace on stage at one of Drake and Migos concerts, the once heated rivals have come together once again on a new single called “Going Bad” which is featured on Meek Mill new project, due on Friday. The Philly rapper reveals the tracklist for the project which showcases 19 tracks with a star-studded lineup that includes JAY-Z, Cardi B, Ella Mai, Rick Ross, Future, Young Thug, 21 Savage, and more.

Most of these names have already collaborated with Meek Mill, but there are a few that he is working with for the first time including R&B singer Ella Mai. Rick Ross and JAY-Z come together on the single “What’s Free” which tackles criminal justice reform. It’s his single with Drake that’s getting the most attention even though we haven’t heard it yet.

In his recent interview with Vulture, Meek Mill explains that his reunion with Drake has been a year in the making. “Me and Drake have actually been communicating for the last year. Even before I went to prison. It was based on the right time. We ain’t have nothing going on but a rap beef, we didn’t cause harm to each other,” the Dreamchaser rapper said.

Meek added that it was possible that he and Drake will collaborate on a song soon, so it’s unclear if this track was recently recorded or if Meek simply didn’t want to divulge too much when he did the interview. “I think that’s possible. What we did was genuine,” he continues. “We didn’t just do it for the love of the people ‘cause we could’ve been done that. We waited until we were ready and did that.”
