Vybz Kartel & Shawn Storm Attorney Gives Update On Appeal Verdict

Vybz Kartel and Shawn Storm’s attorney speak on the pending appeal verdict.

Kartel and his three co-accused are eagerly awaiting the verdict in their appeal case. It’s been three months since the case was wrapped in the Jamaica Court of Appeal and the judges have not yet returned with a verdict. Cases like these typically take months in Jamaica, but the president of the appeal court previously indicated that some priority would be placed on the case given the public interest.

Bert Samuels, the attorney who represents Shawn “Storm” Campbell, has weighed in on the appeal saying that he has no idea when a verdict will be reached. “There are really no indications as to when a verdict will be reached, but Shawn Campbell is very upbeat and optimistic that he will be a free man and back on the road soon,” Samuels said.

Vybz Kartel and Shawn Storm’s legal team previously expressed their confidence that the convicted men will walk free after the court hears their appeal case. The attorneys presented a strong case before the courts in July of this year. The prosecution also vigorously pushed back telling the court to keep the men behind bars because they are guilty of the crime that they were convicted for.

Kartel, real name Adidja Palmer, Shawn Storm, Andre St John, and Kahira Jones are currently serving life in prison for the murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams. The four men have maintained their innocence.
