Beenie Man, Tanto Metro & Devonte Performs Bookshelf Hits To Mark 20th Anniversary

Beenie Man Bookshelf

Tony Kelly is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the iconic Bookshelf Riddim.

Legendary dancehall artists Beenie Man, Tanto Metro and Devonte were joined by new female artist Kalia for a performance at stage last weekend of their hits on the project. The Bookshelf Riddim is one of the most iconic beats in dancehall’s history. Legendary producer, Tony Kelly, released the beat in 1998 and since then numerous big name artists like Rihanna, Tory Lanez, have sampled it over the years.

Kelly, more popularly known as Tony CD Kelly, is the brother of another legend in dancehall production, Dave Kelly. The Bookshelf features artists like Sean Paul, Mr. Vegas, Beenie Man, Tanya Stephens, Tanto Metro & Devonte, Lady Saw, and more.

Tony Kelly sat down for an interview with Winford Williams of OnStage where he opened up about the 1990s golden era for dancehall and how he became one of the most recognized producers that helped shaped the genre. You can watch his interview around the 20-minute mark in the video, and then Beenie Man, Tanto Metro, and Devonte did a short interview at the end before performing their hits.
