Kanye West is reportedly dealing with a family crisis after his dad was diagnosed with cancer.
Kanye West has been dealing with a lot over the past year. The G.O.O.D. Music rapper was hospitalized in November last year for a mental break down. For the months ensued that incident, he remained under the radar until around May when he popped back up to stir up some controversies where he infamously said “slavery was a choice.” Ye bounced back from that with a series of album releases that made fans totally forget he is an “azz.”
Turns out that Kanye West has been dealing with a crisis in his family. RadarOnline reported that Ye’s father, Ray West, was diagnosed with stomach cancer last year spring and has been getting treatment ever since then. The “College Dropout” rapper’s stepmom, Cheryl Carmichael West, confirmed the news.
The unfortunate cancer diagnosis comes on the heels of the 10-year anniversary of Kanye’s mom Donda West’s death. She passed away in 2007 following a plastic surgery procedure. Ye was very close with his mom and has been close with his dad since her death.
