Kodak Black has obtained his GED and will reportedly leave jail in September.

The Pompano Beach rapper confirmed on social media that he received his High School Diploma just two days after revealing that he passed the GED practice test. “I just received my high school diploma today and although it is a big accomplishment for me I am yearning for more,” Kodak Black wrote on IG. The “Tunnel Vision” rapper also thanked his teachers for helping him prepare for the test.

“I appreciate my teachers Mr. Williams and Mr. Ward for those times when I would get frustrated you worked diligently to make sure I had the right materials and was ready for this big day,” he wrote.

Kodak Black is also reportedly set to be released from jail in September after serving around nine months behind bars for probation violation. Kodak was arrested in January of this year and charged with child neglect, possession of weapon or ammo by a felon, grand theft of firearm, possession of marijuana, and probation violation charges.

The gun and child neglect charges were dropped, but the other charges remained. The rapper was denied bond.

  1. A GED is not the same as a high school diploma.
