Vybz Kartel Takes Us Back To 2002 With New Song “Vybz Principal”

Black Vybz Kartel

Vybz Kartel takes us back to school with his latest single “Vybz Principal.”

Kartel comes through with that old school flow that we first fell in love with. The single “Vybz Principal” was produced by Masta Myne Records and features the incarcerated dancehall hitmaker spitting rhymes over a bass-heavy dancehall beat. “Pu put it pan di cutlas / Spin like a compass / Yuh naahfi hide yo face / Yo color code no mismatch,” the deejay spits.

Kartel also brought us back to 2008 with some old lyrics, “Cock up is a ten like dandy shandy, show yo fat catch tic toc the second hand on that wristwatch.” Vybz Kartel manages to stay relevant in dancehall despite being behind bars since 2011. Although he has denied that he is recording music in prison, some of his more recent hits over the past few years raised a lot of eyebrows.

His reign on dancehall also prompted prison authorities to launch an investigation into the allegations, but they came up empty-handed. Either Vybz Kartel time travels back to the past to record music about what’s happening now, or he has some serious connections to allow him to be dropping hits from the slammer.
