Meek Mill Cancels Trump Meeting After JAY-Z Intervention

Meek Mill will not be going to the White House to meet with Donald Trump and JAY-Z has everything to do with the decision.

A day ago, Meek Mill was locked and ready to visit the White House for a meeting with President Trump to discuss prison reform. Participants in the meeting include activists, other victims of the prison system, and members of Congress. Turns out JAY-Z and other celebrity friends of Meek Mill told him not to go and he then canceled the visit.

Meek spoke to TMZ about his decision not to attend the meeting saying that the focus will be on himself and on the President and he wants the focus to be solely on the mission. “Unfortunately, the focus turned to the President and Myself which concerned me that it might take away from creating a positive result from today’s discussions,” the Philly rapper said.

Despite canceling his appearance at the White House, Meek Mill says he remains committed to helping reform the criminal justice system. The Dreamchaser rapper was released from prison last month after months of battling the justice system.

Meek Mill’s legal team says the rapper was unjustly imprisoned for violating his probation violation for a crime that he did not commit. His original arresting officer was ousted as a corrupt cop and hundreds of cases he was involved in is now under scrutiny.
