T.I. has issued a statement through his attorney addressing his drunken on Wednesday.

TIP was taken into custody early Wednesday morning when a security guard at his gate community home in Henry County, an Atlanta suburb south of the city. T.I., born Clifford Harris Jr., arrived at the Eagle’s Landing Country Club community in the 100 block of Eagle’s Landing Way around 4 a.m. on Wednesday. The Atlanta rapper noticed that the guard was sleeping on the job and attempted to wake him up to let him inside, AJC reported.

The guard told called police officer when T.I. started yelling at him and asked for his supervisor name. When police arrived on the scene, TIP told the cops that the guard refused to let him in when asked to be let in the community where he lives. The guard says the rapper was yelling profanity at him and behaving badly. The guard also claimed that T.I. threatened him by telling him to “come outside so we can deal with this man to man.”

T.I.’s attorney, Steve Sadow, tweeted out a statement saying that the rapper was wrongfully arrested. “Tip was wrongfully arrested early this morning when he attempted to gain entrance into his gated community – where his wife ‘Tiny’ and his family reside,” the statement reads. “The guard was sound asleep when Tip arrived at the guardhouse. It took Tip some time to wake up the sleeping guard. Tip clearly identified himself and sought entry. The guard refused entry.”

T.I. was released on bail on Wednesday afternoon and he never had to go to court.
