Kanye West mother’s plastic surgeon Dr. Jan Adams has fired off a letter to the rapper asking him to quit using his image to promote his music.
Last week, Kanye West tweeted a screenshot of a text message conversation he had with Wes where he showed us a photo of Dr. Adams, the plastic surgeon who performed his mom’s last surgery before her death. Donda West died in November 2007 a day of doing a plastic and breast reduction surgery.
For years Kanye struggles with the death of his mother and has launched numerous projects in her name. Now he is claiming that he has forgiven her plastic surgeon for his hand in her death, although he was never charged for any crime and want to use his image as the cover art for his upcoming album. “This my album cover. This plastic surgeon Jan Adams. The person who performed my mom’s final surgery,” Ye wrote. “Do you have any title ideas…I want to forgive and stop hating.”
Dr. Jan Adams has since fired off a feisty letter to the rapper asking him to stop using his image to promote his music or else he will face legal action. The Blast published the letters on Monday and Kanye also posted it on Twitter.
“Dear Kanye: Thank you for thinking of me for the cover of your next album. That is kind of you,” Adams wrote. “Unfortunately, I have to decline at this time, and I ask that you cease and desist using my photo or any image of me to promote your album or any of your work. I don’t want to seem ungrateful… I just think that if in fact this conversion to love is genuine on your part… then it’s inappropriate to drag the negativity of the past with it.”
Dr. Adams also pointed out that he was cleared of negligence in an investigation that follows Donda West’s death. He pointed to a cousin of Kanye West, Stephan Scoggins, who was also Donda’s nurse at the time for not following postoperative care instructions. Scoggins was also cleared in the investigation.
