J. Cole addresses Lil Pump and all the other new wave rappers on his new single “1985 (Intro To “The Fall Off”).”
At the stroke of midnight last night, J. Cole unleashed his latest album “Kids On Drugs” or “K.O.D” as we so affectionately call it, on the rap world. Minutes after the project was made available on all streaming platforms, we started dissecting the lyrics which is on a higher level than what we’re used to these days from the current crop of new wave Lil rappers.
Cole takes us to school just like what JAY-Z did with “4:44” except the Dreamville rapper addressed a wide range of topics including drug addiction, social media, how the government fails us and last but not least, the new generation of hip hop artists. On the single “1985” the Roc Nation emcee responds to Lil Pump diss, as well as, issued a clever takedown of all the mumble rappers out there.
“I heard one of em’ dissed me, I’m suprised / I ain’t trippin’, listen good to my reply / Come here lil’ man, let me talk with ya’ / See if I can paint for you the larger picture / Congrats ’cause you made it out your mama’s house / I hope you make enough to buy your mom a house,” J. Cole raps.
Last year, Lil Pump released a J. Cole diss track and went on a Twitter rant about being a better rapper the North Carolina emcee. Some fans are saying he is just trolling Cole and using the made-up beef as a shock-value to help his career. Maybe it’s working or maybe it will just be the end of his career because JC has now responded when he didn’t need to. Bear in mind that Pump is 16 or 17 years old.

“1985” is definitely about lil pump and smokepurp and a few others. They literally trolled and mocked j cole for attention. My mans a fool for that Love & Hip Hop line though ?.
