Young Thug “SEX” Name Change Is Actually Album Title

Young Thug changes his name once again to “SEX” and we exclusively learned today that it’s the title of his new album

Thugger is either just trolling us or have a new album coming out so he is trying to create some buzz. In 2016, Young Thug changed his name to Jeffery and dropped an album of the same name. Yesterday, he went on Twitter and announced that he wants to be called SEX going forward. “I’m changing my name to SEX….” he tweeted. “For now on call me SEX.”

We’re told that the Atlanta rapper is currently readying his new album titled “SEX” similar to what he did with Jeffery in 2016. “He is not trolling or anything like that, it’s actually the title of his new project, look out for a major announcement soon,” sources told Urban Islandz on Wednesday.

Last year, Young Thug really toyed with the idea of changing his name to his government name Jeffery Williams. He said at the time that he doesn’t want his kids to grow up hearing people calling him Thug so he thought the name change was appropriate and necessary. Turns out it didn’t work out as planned since all his fans already know him by his stage name.

The album peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 chart after selling a paltry 18,000 copies in the first week of release. At the time, he said the name change would be permanent if the mixtape sold over 100,000 copies in the first week. That didn’t happen.

Young Thug released three projects last year, Beautiful Thugger Girls in June, Young Martha in September, and a joint mixtape with Future Super Slimey in October. Super Slimey debut at No. 2 on the 200 chart after selling 75,000 album-equivalent units in the first week. 15,000 copies of those were pure album sales.
