Sting and Shaggy Teams Up On “Don’t Make Me Wait”

Legendary singer Sting teams up with Shaggy for his new single “Don’t Make Me Wait.”

The singer and the dancehall legend are currently working on their joint album 44/876, due later this year. The romantic ballad features Sting belting out his famous vocals about wanting to be with a girl but don’t want her to feel pressured. “I don’t want you to think I’m rushing you, I know you like to take your time, I’m already sold on the idea of you and I,” the British crooner sings.

Shaggy came through with his gravel voice over a reggae beat singing, “Nothing wrong with waiting a little bit, you know this is to me more than just hitting it, but you only get a love like this once in a lifetime, and if this is our chance I ain’t missing it.”

Sting is currently in Jamaica with the reggae/dancehall legend working on the album. He also performed at the annual Shaggy and Friends benefit concert in Kingston earlier this month and prior to that he visited the Bustamante Hospital for Children for a tour. He compared the atmosphere at the children’s hospital to that of a warm village.

Shaggy confirmed last month that the pair has a joint album in the works but he couldn’t divulge too much information about it. “We have something working on, but I can’t say anything right now,” he said. “We recently did a song that I had written. His manager heard the song and he played it. Afterwards Sting walked in and began to sing the hook.” The album is now in its advanced state with over a dozen songs already recorded. Last week we saw him posted a photo of the two in the studio with dancehall deejay Aidonia hinting that the 4th Genna leader might be featured on the project.
