This year, Shaggy manages to get three international acts on board, Fetty Wap, Wyclef Jean, and STING. “These international acts, none a fi dem pickney nah come a Bustamante, so to get international acts to come in for free is always a tough one,” the dancehall legend said. “This year, we’re lucky. We have some international acts that have come on board, and they have come on board for the first time absolutely free.”

The concert will also feature appearances from Shenseea, Dexta Daps, Christopher Martin, Junior Reid, Aidonia, Wayne Wonder, Capleton, Chaka Demus and Pliers, Third World, Professor Nuts, Bunji Garlin and Fay-Ann Lyons, and Barrington Levy. Speaking about the ambitious $100 million target, he said, “I don’t like to set targets for the simple fact that this is an ongoing thing. we don’t come to do it a one time and stop, but nothing is wrong with setting dreams. so whether or not people will think it’s realistic is neither here nor there. I like to just go in, engage people, and put our best foot forward and see what we make.”

Shaggy and Friends benefit concert has raised US$1.5 million (J$189 million) for the Bustamante Hospital for Children since its inception. The money has been used to expand the hospital and buy well needed medical equipment over the years. The concert is set for January 6, 2018.
