Kendrick Lamar & JAY-Z Leads Grammy Nomination List 2018

Kendrick Lamar and JAY-Z lead the pack among the 2018 Grammy nominees.

The 60th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony is just right around the corner and on Tuesday the Recording Academy announced the nominees and it came with some major surprises snubs. JAY-Z lead the nominees with eight nods including some coveted categories like Album of the Year for 4:44, Record of the Year for “The Story of O.J.” and Song of the Year for “4:44.” JAY-Z is one of the most decorated artists in the history of the Grammys with 21 wins and 74 nominations.

Kendrick Lamar came in right after Hov with seven nominations including Album of the Year for his critically-acclaimed album DAMN. and Record of the Year for “HUMBLE.” Over the space of his career, Kendrick Lamar has received 20 nominations and won 7. R&B singer Bruno Mars received six nominations including Album of the Year for 24K Magic and Song of the Year for “That’s What I Like.” His song “24K Magic” also received a nod for Record of the Year, a Grammy that he picked up back in 2015 for “Uptown Funk.”

Childish Gambino follows Mars with five nominations for his critically-acclaimed album Awaken, My Love!, and he is going up against the big guns in the Album of the Year category and Record of the Year for his single “Redbone.” Gambino also picked up a nomination for Best Urban Contemporary Album.
