Dancehall Artist Unicorn Shot and Killed In Kingston

Dancehall artist Unicorn was shot and killed in Kingston on Sunday.

Details about the killing are still sketchy, but police sources confirmed with Urban Islandz that the 43-year-old deejay, real name Donovan McMurray, was shot and killed by a few armed men on Bowens Road in Kingston 13, Sunday afternoon. Police officers responded to a call that reported someone was shot and found his lifeless body laying on the road in a pool of blood. “He was dead on the scene when we arrived,” sources said.

Macka Diamond, who is a longtime friend of Unicorn, confirmed his death on Instagram yesterday. “Sleep in peace [Unicorn] can’t believe it a swear #mood,” she wrote. Unicorn is famous for his song Macka Diamond, “Think Bout Mi” which was released in 2009. He also has a song with Stacious titled “Love Me Up.”

Police are investigating the shooting as a homicide but so far no arrests have been made.
