Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington Dead Celebrities React

Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington is dead. Multiple reports confirmed on Thursday that the legendary singer committed suicide by hanging himself.

Bennington was age 41 at the time of his death. Law enforcement officials told TMZ that he hang himself at his Palos Verdes Estates in L.A. County on Thursday. His body was discovered by an unnamed individual this morning. He died leaving behind six children that he had with two wives.

It’s still unclear why Chester Bennington would commit suicide but he struggled with alcohol and drug abuse for years and even said in a previous interview that he has contemplate suicide in the past. A lot of his struggles he attribute to being abused as a child. Perhaps that was his way of crying for help but seems no one took notice. Celebrities including Rihanna, Machine Gun Kelly, Pusha T, Chance The Rapper, Jimmy Kimmel, Mike Shinoda, Pharrell Williams and more have been sharing their reaction on social media.

Vocal beast! #RIPChester #LinkinPark,” Rihanna wrote, while Pharrell Williams added, “Chester… You and the guys all influenced an entire generation. You went so hard and set so many kids free of their environments and situations. You let NERD open for you in Germany, we’ll never forget that show; YOU CRUSHED IT. The last time I saw you, you gave us chills. Your essence is amongst the stars. Rest now.”

Chester Bennington was the lead singer of the group Linkin Park where he helped them garnered critical acclaim in the music business and sold 10s of millions of records. Their debut album Hybrid Theory was released in 2000 where they fused a number of genres like hip hop, pop, and rock to make their unique sound. That album has since sold over 10 million copies and has been certified diamond.
