Watch JAY-Z and Damian Marley Video “Bam”

JAY-Z continues to roll out music videos from his latest album 4:44 this time dropping the cut for his Damian Marley assisted single “Bam.”

You can remember last month JAY-Z popped up in Kingston where he hit up the Tuff Gong studio to lay down the track with Damian “Jr Gong” Marley. The single sampled Sister Nancy classic dancehall banger “Bam Bam.” While in Jamaica, JAY-Z used the opportunity to shoot the video showing clips of Trench Town where Bob Marley grew up.

The music video for “Bam” was exclusively released on TIDAL on Friday but over the next couple of days it is expected to pop up on JAY-Z’s vevo channel on YouTube. The four minutes clip features some commentary from both Damian Marley and Hov, as well as, some live a cappella. “The prophets, in the beginning, were musicians,” Hov said. “They were poets, writers. That’s what we’ve been tasked with in this life. It’s actually kind of humbling.” Later, he adds: “We’re all vessels. We’re whistles. The wind goes through us. We make the noise.”

Sister Nancy also made a cameo in the video where she spoke to JAY-Z about her classic hit “Bam Bam” explaining that it started out as a freestyle and today it’s a timeless piece of music that is regularly being sampled by some of the biggest names in music.
