Vershon Steers Clear Of Mavado Beef Fans Calling Him A Coward

Vershon is steering clear of an all out beef with dancehall giant Mavado and for good reasons, but some of his fans are calling him a coward.

Mavado has been very actively on the war side of dancehall over the past year with beefs with Vybz Kartel, Popcaan and a small running with Vershon who is a strong supporter of the Unruly gang. But a recent song uploaded to YouTube from Vershon labeled as a Mavado diss record is causing the singjay some problems.

“I guess dem like see war,” Vershon said. “Dem upload the song as Mavado diss and I have reached out to some of them and told them to take it down. This is not a diss track. If you check on my official VEVO page it is uploaded as Vershon, My Success. It is not aimed at anybody and I don’t mention anybody. I want fans to know that I am not responsible for persons labelling the record as a Mavado diss.”

There are a few lines in the sing that some dancehall fans are saying are direct shots at Mavado. “Boy come a boast, money fool, money fright / Yu nuh memba when you used to live pon di gully side,” Vershon sings. Some of his fans on social media are calling him a coward for taking shots at Mavado and then running from a potential lyrical feud that some of those fans say could be detrimental to his career.
