Nick Cannon Announced He Is Leaving ‘America’s Got Talent’ After Row With NBC

Nick Cannon will not be hosting “America’s Got Talent” following a spat with NBC over some recent comments he made.

The comedian/actor released a lengthy statement on his Facebook page explaining his side of the story and announcing that he will not be returning to the show. “After days of deliberating over some extremely disappointing news that I was being threatened with termination by Executives because of a comedy special that was only intended to bring communities closer together, I was to be punished for a joke,” he wrote.

Cannon says there are no amount of money that is worth his “dignity or my integrity” and maintained that he loved hosting the show that he has been on for the past 8 seasons. The beef between Nick Cannon and NBC started when the comedian made some jokes about the network during his Showetime stand-up comedy show Stand Up, Don’t Shoot. “I honestly believe once I started doing America’s Got Talent, they took my real ni*** card,” he said as the audience laugh.

Nick Cannon also calls for diversity among the top level executives at media corporations. He is also getting a lot of support from fans on social media with some folks saying that they will stop watching the show if he leaves. At the moment, Cannon shows no signs of going back on his word.
