Kendrick Lamar is reportedly very upset that Adele won the Grammy for Album of the Year over Beyonce.
I don’t think K-Dot is alone in feeling like this at the moment because of a lot of folks believed that Beyonce’s Lemonade album was the best project released last year. Adele’s album 25 was also a landmark project from the British songstress, so this is a close call. Adele eventually won and in her acceptance speech, she revealed that she thought that Beyonce would have won that category.
One of the biggest names in hip hop currently, Kendrick Lamar, is reportedly angry at the Grammys because he thought that Beyonce would have won. “I just spoke to kdot,” Punch of TDE tweeted last night. “He’s really up set about the Queen B not getting her album of the year trophy.” Punch is the co-president of Kendrick Lamar’s label Top Dawg Entertainment aka TDE.
This is not Kendrick’s first Grammy controversy. Back in 2013 he famously lost the Best Rap Album Grammy for his now classic album good kid m.A.A.d. city to Macklemore and Ryan Lewis album The Heist. Macklemore also agreed that he won the Grammy over Kendrick Lamar because he is white.
