Drake Text Chance The Rapper Congrats For His Grammy Wins

Drake was one of the first persons to congratulate Chance The Rapper for winning three Grammy awards for Best New Artist, Best Rap Album, and Best Rap Performance.

The Chicago emcee was well deserving of the award after having a great year in music. He beat out competition from The Chainsmokers and Anderson .Paak to win the Best New Artist category. In the Best Rap Album he won for his album Coloring Book, beating out category he beat out competitions from Drake’s Views, Kanye West’s The Life of Pablo, DJ Khaled’s Major Key, De La Coul’s And The Anonymous Nobody, and Schoolboy Q’s Blank Face LP.

“Glory be to God. I claim this victory in the name of the Lord,” Chance said while also thanking his city Chicago for rallying behind him and making him have the time of his life. The “No Problem” rapper also became the first artist to be nominated for a win an album that was purely streaming. During his speech he also reiterate that he will remain an independent artist because that means he will continue to maintain his creative freedom.

Chance also won a Grammy for Best Rap Performance for his single “No Problem.” He went up against competition from “Panda” by Desiigner, “Pop Style” by Drake featuring The Throne (Kanye West and Jay Z), “That Part” by ScHoolboy Q Featuring Kanye West, and “All The Way Up” by Fat Joe & Remy Ma Featuring French Montana & Infared.

Drake, who is now touring in Europe, text Chance The Rapper to congratulate him on his win. “Congrats boi! well deserved, I am in Manchester having a drink for u Browski, more more more,” Drake wrote, while Chance responded saying, “Love you bro! I’m hearing amazing things about tour.”

Congrats to Chance The Rapper for winning three Grammy awards.
