Meek Mill Concert Shooting Left Two Dead Two Injured

Meek Mill concert in Connecticut on Friday night ended premature with gunshots ringing out outside the venue leaving two persons dead.

The Philly rapper was performing at the Toyota Oakdale Theatre last night, but moments after 11 PM gunshots starting ringing out outside of the venue. Cops were called in and upon their investigation several persons were found suffering from gunshot wounds. NBC reported that a fight lead to the gunfire. Two persons were pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital while two others were admitted in stable condition. One of the dead men has been identified as 31-year-old Travis Ward of New Haven. He was identified by family members.

Cops interviewed several witnesses at the scene but so far the only lead they have is a description of the getaway vehicle. “We’re looking into that evading vehicle,” Wallingford Police Lt. Cheryl Bradley said. “We have good information on that. We’re not sure if that was a suspect or somebody who for whatever reason just didn’t want to stop.”

Meek Mill was not harmed during the incident. The MMG rapper has since left Connecticut for Miami where he will be performing at a club gig tonight and ringing in the New Year. Meek spent three months on house arrest earlier this year for probation violation stemming from a drug and gun charge from 2009. He flew to California without a judge permission and was slapped with the house arrest.
