Vybz Kartel Announces 1000 New Songs For 2017 Another Album In The Works

Vybz Kartel is planning a major 2017 takeover. The incarcerated Worl’Boss announced that he could release as much as a thousand new singles in 2017.

The deejay first made the announcement on his IG profile before a rep for the Gaza told Urban Islandz exclusively that they have even more than that number in their possession. “Hear me say nuh man a 1,000 new song ,just get the 100GB sd card and get ready #GAZANATION,” Kartel wrote on social media.

“We have more than a thousand songs ready to be release so 2017 is going to be a total Vybz Kartel takeover,” a rep for the deejay told us. When asked if he will be releasing that number of songs in the new year, his rep says that is unlikely, but fans can expect a consistent supply of new high quality music.

“This doesn’t necessarily mean we are going to release a thousand songs, but we have so much to choose from so fans can expect more hit songs, more quality music, more videos from Worl’Boss,” his rep added.

We’re also told that a new album is already in the works for the top of the new year. Kartel, Born Adidja Palmer, is currently serving a life sentence for murder. Despite being incarcerated since 2011, he has remained relevant in dancehall with a regular supply of new music.

Last month the dancehall artist was abruptly transferred from the Horizon Remand Center to the Tower Street prison following an investigation into whether or not he has been recording music in prison. He has since denied the allegations, but most fans are still convinced that his latest rain of new music are from recordings he did behind bars.

Vybz Kartel is currently awaiting his appeal hearing in the Jamaican Appeal court after filing docs earlier this year seeking a new trial.
