Nicki Minaj Now The Female Artist With Second Most Hot 100 Singles

Nicki Minaj has surpassed Taylor Swift and is gunning for the top spot as the female artist with the most Billboard Hot 100 singles. The Young Money rapper scored her 70th entry on the chart this week with her new single “Black Barbie.”

This is some good news for the Trinidadian rapper who is going through some relationship drama with her boyfriend Meek Mill. Nicki is currently vacationing with her mother and some friends in the Turks and Caiacos island in the Caribbean after flying down there for her 34th birthday.

The single “Black Barbie” is a remix of the sort or a response to Rae Sremmurd chart topping single “Black Beatles” which has become the soundtrack for the Mannequin Challenge. The Mike-WiLL Made-It-produced single made its debut on the Billboard Hot 100 chart this week at No. 65. She is now only behind soul legend Aretha Franklin who hold the top spot with 73 Hot 100 singles.

Elsewhere on the chart, Rae Sremmurd still holds the top with the original “Black Beatles” while The weeknd holds No. 2 with “Starboy” off his new album of the same name. The Chainsmokers and Halsey duet “Closer” is at No. 3, Bruno Mars “24K Magix” at No. 4 and Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj’s “Side To Side” rounded out the top five.
