Surviving Compton Movie Puts Heat On Dr. Dre and Suge Knight

Dr. Dre and Suge Knight are getting a lot of heat on social media after Lifetime aired the movie “Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge and Michel’le.”

The film is the official biopic for former Death Row singer Michel’le and was aired on Saturday night on the Lifetime channel. But moments after the filmed aired for the first time, Twitter went nuts blasting Dre and Suge for their alleged abuse of women including Michel’le who dated Dr. Dre.

“I don’t believe dre was that hardcore , suge knight .. yes but nah not dre,” one person wrote on Twitter.

The movie started a lot of controversy even before it was released. The trailer shows Dre and Suge Knight beating women including Michel’le. Dre even threatened to sue Sony Pictures for negatively portraying him in the film. In a letter sent by Dre’s lawyer to Sony, he outlined that since they’ve dated 30 years ago she never once hinted that he was abusive to her. She also never filed a police report or seek medical treatment, TMZ reported.

Seems his legal threats weren’t enough to stop the movie so we suspected that a lawsuit is on its way.

This is not the first accusation of women abuse laid out against Dr. Dre. Around the time of the premiere of “Straight Outta Compton” hip hop journalist Dee Barnes revealed that the rap legend assaulted her in 1990 after the group got upset over a segment portraying them in a bad light on her show.

Dr. Dre has since issued an apology. “Twenty-five years ago I was a young man drinking too much and in over my head with no real structure in my life,” Dre said in a statement to the New York Times. “However, none of this is an excuse for what I did. I’ve been married for 19 years and every day I’m working to be a better man for my family, seeking guidance along the way. I’m doing everything I can so I never resemble that man again. I apologize to the women I’ve hurt. I deeply regret what I did and know that it has forever impacted all of our lives.”
